About

My name is Andy Tough. I am a ‘Pet Dog Training Instructor’. This means that I train people to train their dogs. I hope to do this in a way that is fun for the people and the dog.

I have been teaching at Alpha Dog Training in North London since 2012. Nearly everything I know about dogs has been learned from Sue Evans who runs Alpha. I have met many excellent instructors at Alpha, and many really lovely clients. I usually teach at our Thursday classes in Finsbury Park and on Tuesdays when we run puppy classes at a local vets.

I put this site together in April 2020 as a response to the Covid-19 lockdown. I had been missing classes and was concerned about the people and their dogs who would normally attend those classes.

I am a member of an organisation called Pet Dog Training Instructors through which I obtained an ‘Instructors Award’ in 2016. The PDTI is a very welcoming organisation and I would recommend them to anyone who wishes to get involved in dog training.

I am a signatory to the Companion Animal Welfare Council’s Code of Practice, also know as the CAWC Code of Practice.

I am a director of RCDTBP Community Interest Company which has the responsibility to manage and hold the official register of Signatories to the CAWC Dog Behaviour & Training Code of Practice for Practitioners.
